Billy BOLT- The Ironman

Billy Bolt, the three-time MotoZ FIM SuperEnduro World Championship champion, has once again managed to secure a new Grand Prix victory despite a knee injury. Billy BOLT solidifies his leadership status, and the 24MX red plate is firmly attached to his Husqvarna. In the Junior category, Ashton BRIGHTMORE demonstrated unwavering dominance throughout the evening, reclaiming the lead from Suff SELLA.

Billy BOLT could be described with many nicknames, but the one that would come up most frequently is "superhuman." The British rider suffered a serious knee injury during the Grand Prix of Germany in early January, with a ligament rupture widely suspected. Most people would probably be on their couch lamenting their fate, but not "Billy the Dog." Diminished but still highly motivated, the English rider took on the challenge of the first-ever SuperEnduro GP in Romania. Despite being defeated by Jonny WALKER (GBR-Beta) in the first final, he crossed the finish line in second place despite the pain. In the second race, BOLT managed to clinch victory with an excellent start, finishing ahead of WALKER and Dominik OLSZOWY (POL-Rieju). The last race was once again a formality for BOLT, securing his fourth GP win of the 2024 season. He triumphed over WALKER and Manuel LETTENBICHLER (GER-KTM), who stepped onto the podium again this year.

In the World Championship standings, Billy BOLT now has 239 points, 19 more than WALKER, who remains in contention despite this new second place. Mani LETTENBICHLER is now third in the standings, managing to surpass Will HOARE (GBR), who finished only seventh in Romania riding his new Rieju.

Impressive BRIGHTMORE

Ashton BRIGHTMORE (GBR-GASGAS) continues to surprise with his early talent. The young British rider excels on technical and demanding tracks. He secured his second victory of the season, winning two race heats and even lapping Suff SELLA (ISR-KTM) in the first heat, his main rival in the Junior category. SELLA remains in the competition, clinching a beautiful victory in the last heat. Thus, the two boys finished first (BRIGHTMORE) and second (SELLA) in Romania, with Marc SERRA FERNANDEZ (ESP-KTM) joining them on the podium.

In the category standings, BRIGHTMORE takes back the lead by a slim margin of three points over SELLA. Roland LISZKA (HUN-KTM) remains third in the Junior standings.

The next round of the MotoZ FIM SuperEnduro World Championship is scheduled for February 3rd for the Hungarian GP in Budapest.
