Eddie KARLSSON - FIRST WIN!

The friendly Swede achieved a remarkable feat in the Transylvanian night of Cluj. He secured the Akrapovic Superpole for the first time in his MotoZ FIM SuperEnduro World Championship career, surpassing all the discipline specialists. KARLSSON had his moment of glory during this fourth round of the championship.

WALKER and BOLT's Misfortune

It's noteworthy that the two masters of the world championship completely missed out on their Akrapovic Superpole at the Grand Prix of Romania. Jonny WALKER (GBR-Beta) seemed a bit shaky with intense neck pain. The 2023 runner-up made a mistake in the back straight line of the BTArena Cluj track. The Brit had difficulty getting back up. Consequently, he missed a golden opportunity to gain points on his number one rival, Billy BOLT (GBR-Husqvarna). WALKER finished an unprecedented seventh and last (46.343). He is surpassed by Dominik OLSZOWY (POL-Rieju), who completed a clean lap without taking too many risks (37.948). The Pole is still learning in the SuperEnduro premier league. His new teammate, Will HOARE (GBR-Rieju), discovered his brand-new machine in competition. The Brit settles for fifth place, which could nevertheless make him ambitious for the rest of the evening. One has to go back to Billy BOLT's first season to find the triple world champion only fourth in a SuperPole (37.543). Greatly hindered by his knee injury, BOLT remained stuck for a few seconds in the most daunting turn of the Romanian track: the Devil's Hand.

Unprecedented Top Trio

Diogo VIEIRA (POR-GASGAS) set his best time in SuperPole (36.736). The Portuguese rider ranks third in the session, continuing to prove that his presence in the SuperEnduro world championship is well-deserved and justified. Manuel LETTENBICHLER (GER-KTM) is on point for this great opportunity. The official KTM rider competes in his fourth GP after returning to the discipline. Second in the superpole (36.034), he is positively satisfied with his progress since the start of the season. The victory goes to Eddie KARLSSON (Husqvarna), who sets the fastest time for the first time in his SuperEnduro career. Surprised but happy, the Swede acknowledges that he still has work to do to turn this kind of performance into big points.

The next meeting is scheduled for February 3rd in Budapest for the Hungarian GP.
