Stunner in Spain!

No two rounds of SuperEnduro are the same! The Coliseum da Coruña hosted the 3rd round of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship, and there was a sizzling atmosphere among the 5,000 spectators, who witnessed one of the most impressive performances of the season. Let’s look at the insider story…

Successful Debut

Jose CANDA and the Moto Club Movete na Moto are well known to the FIM and the promoter ABC Communication since they have already organised two rounds of EnduroGP in Santiago de Compostela, and will put on this year’s Spanish GP in. Lalin in April. However, hosting a round of SuperEnduro was new for the club. But with their knowledge and passion they managed to execute a fantastic debut in front of a large crowd. CANDA and his club can be proud of having successfully completed their first SuperEnduro!

National Cup

There was no FIM European Cup round in A Coruña, but two National races were contested with several Spanish riders, including special guest star Sandra GOMEZ (E - Husqvarna)! At the end of the two races, Antonio ALFONSO MORALES (E) won in front of Gerard SALA GRACIA (E) and the German Mirko FABERA! GOMEZ finished just off the podium in 4th, while we must also highlight the participation of two Russian riders: Andrei GAEVSKI and Andrei IADOV!

LEONOV Steps Up!

Speaking of Russia, David LEONOV (R) really stood out on Spanish soil! Now a regular on the SuperEnduro circuit, the Husqvarna rider has shown how much he has progressed, impressing everyone during the Akrapovic Super Pole by setting the second fastest time behind Billy BOLT (GB - Husqvarna). The Russian beat SuperEnduro experts such as Taddy BLAZUSIAK (PL - KTM) and Jonny WALKER (GB - KTM). Unfortunately, this early performance didn’t translate into results in the three races (11/14/11), but before long LEONOV could be up there fighting with the best!

Scott Best Lap

Without doubt, Billy BOLT is the fastest rider of the season so far! In Spain he took the Scott Best Lap award by a hefty margin. The Brit is clearly untouchable when it comes to setting the fastest lap times in the race. For his part, despite a nightmarish Grand Prix, the American Ty CULLINS (TM) got the Scott Best Lap in Junior at the expense of the big winner of the evening Teodor KABAKCHIEV (B - KTM).

Taddy Fan Club

For the past two years, a small Fan Club of three to four people has been travelling from round to round to encourage and support their idol, Taddy BLAZUSIAK! Basia, Wojtek and Piotr are undoubtedly the biggest fans of the six-time World Champion. And despite their hero suffering a difficult evening in A Coruña, the three fans (accompanied by a fourth sidekick for the occasion), never stopped their encouragement during the 3 hours of racing!
And "King Taddy" clearly appreciates their support as he is always available to them whether it be for photos, autographs, or even to offer them his jersey! Keep an eye out for them if you ever visit a SuperEnduro, and take the time to meet Taddy during an autograph session too!

It’s Closing Up!

After 4th in Poland, 3rd in Germany, and 2nd in A Coruña… Little by little, Jonny WALKER is getting closer to his first victory of the season in SuperEnduro. Absent last season due to a nasty injury, the Brit is finally starting to get back into the frantic pace of SuperEnduro. By his own admission, he has made a few too many mistakes, but Jonny WALKER clearly still has the finesse and pace needed to fight at the front! It certainly won’t be easy to get a victory against BOLT and BLAZUSIAK, but there is no doubt that the KTM Factory rider will do everything to get there.

The ‘Tache is Back!

While it seemed to most that moustaches hadn’t been in fashion for several decades, the stars of SuperEnduro beg to differ! For a few years now, Billy BOLT has been proudly rocking a little moustache, and now Diogo VIEIRA (P - Yamaha) has joined him - growing his own style since the German Grand Prix. So who will be the next to succumb to the new fashion in SuperEnduro? We can already imagine BLAZUSIAK, WALKER or GOMEZ joining the club!
