Jonny WALKER Shot First

In 2023, the promoters of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship have decided to reward, with their partner Airoh, the riders who have mastered the art of getting off to a good start. This season, the Airoh Holeshot will reward the driver(s) who cross the first corner in the lead. This reward will be awarded in the queen category: the Prestige but also in the Junior category in order to give extra motivation to the young SuperEnduro class.

The World SuperEnduro entrants were back in the Tauron Arena (Krakow, Poland) after a 3-year absence. As usual, the organizers of the Polish event had a full house. More than 14,000 fans took their places in the stands. The track of this first round was a real challenge for all the competitors. The Polish dirt, always laden with humidity, increases the difficulty to take a good start and manage the first few corners. At this little game, it was privateer Jonny WALKER (GBR-Beta) who got the most out of the first corners of the opening round of the new season. WALKER managed to contain and control the fury and talent of his opponents of the day. Taddy BLAZUSIAK (POL-GasGas) was in a good position in the first meters before crashing and losing time. Billy BOLT (GBR-Husqvarna), got stuck in traffic. The double world champion will still pick up the glory by winning his first final of the evening.

In the second final, the competitors set off in a reverse grid. The riders who have qualified the best start from the second row. Former Husqvarna rider, now official Rieju rider, Alfredo GOMEZ (ESP) signed the Airoh Holeshot of this round. This second final was won by Billy BOLT, once again. The last round, the starting grid regained the same appearance as for the first final of the evening. At this little game, even if BLAZUSIAK was quicker to get out of the grid, Jonny WALKER signed his second holestot of the evening. The Briton wins the first Airoh Holeshot challenge of the 2023 season. He leaves Krakow with a bonus of €300 to reward his performance. Next stage of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship, on January 7th at Riesa in Germany.

In the Junior category, it was the very young Ashton BRIGHTMORE (GBR-GasGas), aged 16, who ruled the roost under the Airoh gate. He accompanies his brother Mitch, winner for their first podium in the world tour and this from their first participation in the World SuperEnduro.
