WALKER on springs

In 2024, the promoters of the MotoZ FIM SuperEnduro World Championship have decided to reward, with their partner Airoh, riders who have mastered the art of getting off to a good start. The Airoh Holeshot rewards drivers who take the lead through the first turn. This award is awarded in the premier category: the Prestige but also in the Junior category in order to give additional motivation to the young SuperEnduro class.

The Riesa track laid out in the WT Energiesysteme Arena is faithful to the tracks set up by the German organizers. The start is the first challenge with a chicane that destabilizes the bike before crossing the Airoh gate for the holeshot. A large matrix puts the riders in difficulty before a very technical hairpin. A new very long matrix brings back to the bridge an emblematic passage of the German track. The final straight is a succession of massive crossings which require rhythm and power. The last hairpin is negotiated in the sand, you have to find the right traction to complete the lap quickly.

Jonny WALKER (GBR-Beta) set the best time in the superpole, so he is able to choose the best line on the starting grid. His choice was quite effective since he was the first to cross the Airoh gantry and sign the first holeshot of the evening. The rest of the race will not please the Beta driver who will have to give up his first place due to mechanical problems to Billy BOLT (GBR-Husqvarna). He finished second in the heat just ahead of Mitch BRIGHTMORE (GBR-GASGAS). For the second start, the tenors are at the back of the grid and it is Tim APOLLE (GER-Beta) who has the best start. The final was won, once again, by Billy BOLT (GBR-Husqvarna) who continued to steal the show despite suffering pain after a bad crash in the timed practice. Jonny WALKER concluded the evening in style by signing the last holeshot and winning in the last final. He is therefore the best performer in Germany and receives the €300 reward given to the winner of the night.

Junior: Roland LYSZKA almost perfect evening

The young Hungarian failed to reach the podium in the German round of the Junior category of the MotoZ FIM SuperEnduro World Championship. Suff SELLA (ISR-KTM) won ahead of Ashton BRIGHTMORE (GBR-GASGAS) and Milan SCHMUESER (GER-Sherco). The KTM rider nevertheless won the reward of best starter of the night in Riesa. 4th in the GP, LISZKA retains its 3rd place in the general classification before the next round of the championship contested in Romania, on January 20.
