South Africa Comes to the Fore!

For the last two years South Africa has been proudly represented in SuperEnduro by the affable Blake GUTZEIT (Yamaha). This season, the "Springboks" will increase in number with the arrival of a new Junior - Kyle FLANAGAN (Sherco)!

Despite the fact that there is still no real SuperEnduro Championship or Cup in South Africa, the discipline is well-known and well-liked across the Southern hemisphere and increasingly so amongst young riders wanting to experience the World Championship...
20 year old Kyle FLANAGAN is the latest to become interested in this unique and exciting discipline. Riding a Sherco SR 350 4 stroke, he will arrive in Europe to face the best Junior riders in the world, among them his compatriot Blake GUTZEIT.
4th in the Championship last season, GUTZEIT (21 years old) will aim for nothing less than the title this year. After a progressively impressive 2016, there is no doubt that the Yamaha rider has every chance to follow in the footsteps of Junior Champion Manuel LETTENBICHLER (D - KTM). But he will face tough competition from APOLLE (D - Husqvarna), HERRERA (CL - TM), SEALEY (GB - Yamaha), JUSZCZASK (PL - Sherco), HUMPHREYS (GB - Husqvarna) or even MARTINSEN (N - KTM)...

There will be two South African riders participating in SuperEnduro in 2017. And if they are able to put in impressive performances, it should have some impact “back home” in S.A, and give even more exposure to this growing sport. Add to that the possible participation of the superstar Wade YOUNG (Sherco) for the last two GPs of the season, and South Africa will be one of the best represented countries in SuperEnduro!
